Season's Greetings!

I hope this holiday season has been a joyful as well as peaceful time for you.
Due to the death of my mother I did not do last months' newsletter. This months'
newsletter will be more brief than usual, and I am taking this opportunity to thank
you for the helpful feedback I have received regarding the newsletter, and also to
everyone who makes it possible for me to do the work I enjoy  and find meaningful.

Book Recommendation

Grieving Mindfully by Sameet Kumar, Ph.D. is a book  I have had in my library for
many months and was inspired to read after my mother passed away. The author is
a Buddhist and clinical psychologist so there are many references to meditation and
Buddhist thinking in this book about coping with loss and grief.  I found this to be an
extremely helpful, interesting, and hopeful book on this topic, especially at this time.  

Movie Recommendation

"Turtles Can Fly" is a film I saw on DVD a few months ago and it still haunts me.
It is a joint production of Iran and Iraq about the effects of war on children, among
other things. I believe it should be required viewing. See what you think.
